Transit is a gift that keeps on giving. Makes streets safer and less congested? Yup. Reduces greenhouse gas emissions? Heck yeah! Connects riders to their communities, stimulates local economies, and provides equitable access for all? Yes, yes and YES! I’ve been proudly car-free since 2017, and since then, I’ve been able to move around my city with a level of freedom and flexibility that’s only possible with transit
2. Tell us about your role on the GMV team?
The truth is, technology is never really ‘finished’—it should always be improving! To make this happen, I collaborate with people across our entire ecosystem, including internal teams, third-party integrators, and, of course, customers, to gather insights, prioritize needs, and design and build enhancements that create value for our users.
3. What’s one of your favorite things about the GMV culture?
My favorite part of the GMV culture is how we share knowledge. There’s an immense amount of knowledge across the team in a wide variety of topics, and it flows so naturally because the culture encourages curiosity and helping others. Whether it’s learning something new, understanding a concept, or solving a problem, I find it comforting to know that I can count on the right expert when I need them—and they can count on me too.
4. Can you tell us about one of your proudest, funniest, or more interesting GMV moments?
My mom rides the bus with one of our customer’s agencies every week at the same time, and she’s gotten to know the operator. They chat whenever the bus isn’t too busy. Recently, the agency switched to the new Hub system, and it was a funny surprise to hear from my mom that the operator really likes the new driver display! I never thought I’d be getting user feedback through my mom, but it really highlights how transit also connects people, not just places
5. Last but not least: what’s a fun fact about you that few others might know?
I’ve been knitting since I was little, and it’s always been a hobby I enjoy. I never go anywhere without some yarn and needles! Several years ago, I started donating my items to folks in need, hoping to share some compassion and warmth. What started as a hobby has grown into a passion project, and I’ve donated hundreds of knitted items to charitable organizations since then.
