Introduction

GMV provides an SMS (text message) service, which uses a local area phone number unique to each transit agency. This service is designed for public use by riders of the transit system to receive arrival predictions and alerts related to the transit system, and its Terms & Conditions are available below.

All terms below are effective in their current form as of May 29, 2026.

 

SMS Service Terms & Conditions

These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the SMS transit information service (the “Service”) operated by GMV and provided on behalf of local transit agencies.

  1. Description of Service

The Service allows riders to receive transit information, including arrival predictions, service alerts, and other transit-related notifications via SMS text messaging. SMS messages are sent to and from local area phone numbers unique to each agency.

  1. Opting In

You may request transit information on-demand by texting the Service.

If you choose to subscribe to service alerts by texting “START” and confirm your subscription, you may receive recurring alerts related to transit service provided by the transit agency.

  1. Message Frequency

Message frequency varies based on your use of the Service and any alert subscriptions you elect to receive.

  1. Message & Data Rates

Message and data rates may apply. Charges are determined by your mobile carrier and service plan.

  1. Opting Out

You may opt out of receiving SMS alerts at any time by replying STOP to any alert message. After opting out, you will no longer receive alert messages unless you subscribe again.

Opting out of alerts does not prevent you from requesting arrival predictions through the Service.

  1. Help

For assistance, reply HELP to any SMS message or contact the transit agency through its customer service channels.

  1. Privacy

Information collected through the Service is subject to the SMS/IVR Privacy Policy, available at: http://gmvtransit.com/privacy

  1. Service Availability

The Service is provided on an “as available” basis. We do not guarantee that the Service will be available at all times or that all transit information, arrival predictions, or alerts will be error-free, complete, or current.

  1. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time. Continued use of the Service after any updates become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
